DirecTV Home Media Center Install

I ordered the new DirecTV Home Media Center (HR34) receiver and they are onsite installing everything now. The guy is staying late and working extra to get everything done. He even had to drive 45 minutes to get the receiver because they didn't have one in stock locally. All above and beyond and all very much appreciated. So kudos there...
But.... he broke one of my cardinal rules for installers! He got mud all over my new carpet!!! He has tracked mud in and out several times and didn't even try to keep the mud off the floors.
It is just frustrating because he went above and beyond to get it done, but he got my carpet dirty :frown:

I did mention it after I noticed it, and he has been trying to wipe his feet better. Poor guy is still here. Looks like we have a bad SWM 16... All he has is a SWM 8 on his truck left. So all the tuners could not be active at once. But, I am going to let him install it as long as someone comes back out tomorrow to get a SWM 16 installed. I really feel for the guy. Apparently the guy who installed my system originally was a special breed of bonehead and he has had to clean up and redo a LOT of stuff....

Oh another self-installer I see.

We've had the whole home DVR since January and it works well...now. When we got it our installer said it was the first one in our area and it took him a while to get it installed. After the install it had all kinds of quirky problems. We have 3 other tuners in the house and they would lose connectivity to it while trying to watch anything that was recorded. I guess they got the bugs worked out in April as those problems have finally been resolved. The only problem we run into now is that you can only record 5 programs at one time. Since we have 4 tuners all together we occasionally hit this limit. I don't think most people have this problem. -
I'd love to have this new DVR but too rich for me right now.
Geez they have a great racket. You "buy" these things, they give you nothing when you trade up and you pay to lease it after you "buy" it.
I'm in the wrong business i tell ya.
