    Dammit man, I just sold all my Sylvannia JAN 6SN7 WGTA tubes!!!! If you can find some,I highly recommend them. Smooth as silk.

    how much do they go for on average?

    In my tube buffer,I've used the Syl GTA's and the Rca V-231's....However,I keep coming back to the RCA 6SN7GTB's...luv them.....Pd $25 for a matched pair on ebay:biggrin:

    ummm... might work, but not without new sockets and rewiring; 6SN7s are octals... or am I mis-reading the context of this post :-P

    De nada. Folks here at Club Polk have been extremely generous to me; trying to "pay it forward" a teeny bit in response (maybe that's just "paying back", though...).
    At any rate, I have a number of 'em and I am sure I can come up with a good sounding and cosmetically appropriate pair without too much effort. I'll be sending you a PM.

    I use the 1950's JAN CHS 6SL7WGT's and I agree that line of Sylvania's is superb.

    UPDATE: A cute and good sounding pair of 6SN7GTA tubes is (are?) en route to the OP even as I type this. Postage was trivial, so they're 100% "on the house".

    I thought that they sounded good in my JE Labs-designed (albeit modified) "Simple 2A3" amplifier. http://members.myactv.net/~je2a3/simple45.htm
    Played some Wailin Jennys with these 6SN7GTAs in it and a) the sound was very good, and b) the "three-dimensionality" was excellent.

    See what you think of 'em...

    (EDIT: Yeah they're Monster cables on the amp... whaddya wanna make of it!? :-) I found 'em at the dump, OK?!?)

    I'm giving them a whirl in a Rogue Stereo 90 for kicks.
    Upgraded from stock KT90's to KT120's and now i'll see what some different 6SN7's and 12AX7's do for fun.

    What did you think of the 120's? I tried them in my Rogue Tempest II Magnum integrated and found them very strident. I can guarantee you this, changing the stock signal tubes will be an immense improvement.

    Dunno anything of that amplifier... if the 6SN7s are phase splitters, I wouldn't expect much difference - but if they're drivers (voltage amps), it might be a different story.

    What kind of 6SN7s are you using in there now?

    These are the first ones i rolled in and got them right from Mark at Rogue already tested and burned in.They blow the stock tubes away.
    That said maybe a different quad would do better but these are sweet as honey IMHO.Tung-Sols btw.

    All they say is china so i think it is worth the effort to roll some different stuff through there.
