EL84 desktop tube amp akin to Miniwatt N3

Sweet little desktop EL84 amp that held me over until I could secure a new Decware. I would keep it but eventually I will go with another Decware amp for my office.

I do have some premium tubes for it so PM about additional cost.

Price is shipped via DHL International.

Apparently, these are identical to the more expensive Miniwatt N3 as it turns out, according to Six Moons, that they were sourcing the amps from these guys who make the APPJ.

    It is a 12AX7. I only heard the thing for about a week until I realized one of the whizzers on my Omegas was trashed. You'd need a set of cables with bananas obviously, and it has a great midrange and immediacy. My Hoyts don't slam but I don't think it's a fault of the pentode; they sounded the same without a sub on my 6V6 amp.

    Only selling to help fund my Decware, I should just keep this for my future small office system...

    Jake - aren't you using something over 100db/w? I had it on the 97db/w Hoyts and it was very quiet. I don't have my Hoyts right now to double-check as new ones are en route and I had to surrender the damaged ones to insurance company.

    SNR says -80db on the spec. I think it would be quiet enough but I wouldn't want to disappoint you.

    105db corner horns, but the allure of SE EL84 is tempting. I'd be interested to see how it compares to my PP EL34/6L6... Do you remember if it has much hum or hiss with your speakers?

    I only had it hooked up for a week before spe4akers had to go so I could get the insurance check. It was quiet until my ear was right up there and honestly my DAC, when not engaged and locked to a sample rate, kind of goes into a pending mode where there is noise. It's weird but both versions of the DAC did this. The speakers are hopefully shipping soon if you want to wait. I am overseas and was either going to keep this amp to use with some Blumensteins (not super efficient though) or give it to my mother in law who is flying back to USA tomorrow. It's a killer little amp, but yeah you want to make sure. I'd say go with something 100% quiet with those horns to be safe. A Decware SE84 would be fun to try; doesn't he have those 2watters?
