My friend is interested in buying my PSW350 sub. He knows little about HT or even his receiver.. all he can tell me is that it's about 7 yrs old... and he knows it's a Pioneer.
He can't tell me whether it's a HT receiver or stereo. oh brother!
Anyway, my ? is this. can a PSW350 sub be hooked up to a stereo receiver using the speaker level inputs on the sub? Or does it have to be a home theater receiver to be able to turn off the sub and run the fronts on large like the manual describes? If he has a pre out or LFE out.. he's set.. and if not.. is he screwed?

Yes, he can connect the PSW350 to his receiver using the speaker level inputs on the sub. He can then use the subs low pass filter to blend with his speakers.Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support
group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.

hey thanks. I thought I read that somewhere... but couldn't remember if it was possible or not. Now I hope he buys my sub.

You probably read it in the owner's manual. That's where I found the information. In case you lost the manual, you can download a PDF copy here:
