Good review....a bit of subjectivity there, as it seems the reviewer prefers a brighter, more dynamic sound for music (which he admits). The LSiM's sound like everything I would personally want in a musical speaker.

To get the real HT effect you need a sub, a good sub.

A larger sub, or multiple subs will be able to play lower with less distortion. A larger sub will have more headroom and allow more room for EQ. Multiples will net flatter in room response(less peaks/valleys). It's about fidelity, not boom boom...which is what you will experience when you have a toy of a sub.

And they truly shine with the best. Consider them highly recommended.

    Sounds impressive enough to me.

I agree, a really good sub will give you more than just boom boom boom. EXAMPLE if you please........

My wife brings home this really lame move, InnKeepers, she loves scary movies but this one, had some almost scary stuff, but please, anyway, when the so called supernatural thing was present, there was some incredible LFE, my four wooden shudders and bar were rattling like crazy, like a tank or a C140 was passing low overhead.

My wife asks all scared, "what is that??? Is that the movie???", I hit pause and both the drivers on my Empire POP back into place. I tell her, that was my sub doing that, she's like, Dang!!
