Very true, but that is why I said vice versa. The OP should do what he likes and not care what the neighbours do. Enjoy life don't stress about this kind of stuff. Obviously they have something to prove let them!

Eh, I don't think it's stressing as much as it is "You all ain't gonna believe this s#!%!". I like hearing stories like this. Makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one with craptacular neighbors!

You can easily snag a 1st gen CTS-V for around $18K these days.

    Went to KBB.com, huh?

The CTS-V's are desirable and rare and still command a premium when they show up used. KBB says they are $18K but dealers around here are at least $6K higher than that. More if it's low mileage.

And yes, I know this for a fact because a friend is a service writer at a Caddy dealer and they have no CTS-V on their lot for less than $24K.

I didnt go to KBB actually. Its what I sold mine for. haha. Also I did a good bit of searching on auto trader and craigslist. I would not buy a V from a dealership if I could help it. Their markup is insane.

Not a single CTS-V up for private sale in my area. All the ones I can find are at dealers and none are lower than $20,999 and that one is at a independent used car lot and likely had a salvage title. Next cheapest one is at a lot in the middle of nowhere and they want $24,995 for it.

    Jon,

The way to really get under thier skin a bit more is to have the neighbor wives constantly talking about what you have done. So your next project should appeal to the more femine side of the couples. This way, it will constantly be a topic of discussion around your neighbors house, and will eventually lead to projects being planned for the husbands.

Might I suggest a wind sculpture or water feature (even it it is really nice copper bird baths). The other thing you might consider is the green side of things. You know how popular it has become to have renewable wood floors (bamboo) or use low VOC paint etc... . For landscape, things like drip irrigation or fertilzer injector systems always strike the green cord.

Another thing you could do to make them crazy, is start planning right now for a Xmas light show. Even better if you do one set to music (played over a low wattage radio system). By the time they see what your doing when you setting up your lights, it will be too late for them this season and you will have the best light show on the block. That would keep them buzzing all year about what they have to do for the next christmas. (If your going to do this I'd recommend Light-O-Rama , as they have DIY kits and great setup guides.)

Whatever you decide it sounds like fun ;-)

The Christmas thing is out, they I think have the market on every possible blow up X-mas item out there. One year i was going to get a 4X8 sheet of plywood and put in big flashing letters " WELCOME TO THE GRISWOLDS" with a arrow pointing their way but the wife said NO!!!!!!!
I would love to do a music light show but I live on a busy high way and the traffic would probable come to a stand still and that would not be good:sad:
