In the mid of April, while selling my speakers and awaiting for the new ones to arrive, I had to use the internal speakers of my Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT30 plasma TV. I discovered that the back cover made annoying rattling noise whenever the TV played bass at volumes above 50/100. Panasonic sent a service tech out to diagnose the issue, he installed insulation strip around the corners and on the internal sub, but that did not fix it. Panasonic then sent a cube piece of foam about 2 inches thick for another tech to install, no good again. Finally they sent 3 pieces of foam which were identical to the one they sent previously (hilarious ) with 2 other techs to arrive at my house for the third time, the result after the foam installation was actually the worst: the rattling noise was even stronger than before. So, after almost a month and a half making me welcome 4 techs and a bunch of foam, Panasonic let their Viera Concierge department give me a call today: they are shipping a TC-P65VT50, this year's model, to the local Panasonic service company, and the techs will bring it to my house to complete the exchange. Furthermore, since I own 7 pairs of 3D glasses, they will switch them out for free because the new TV needs Panasonic's new 4th generation Bluetooth/RF 3D glasses.
So in my book, Panasonic customer service ROCKS, even though I had to deal with them for almost a month and a half
Can't wait to get my eyes on the new TV

Thats a ridiculous deal. Kinda wish it would happen to me with my 60" ST30 since the ST50 is supposed to have the same if not better black levels than last years GT30 lol.....

Dont have any 3d glasses yet and not sure if I will get any since I dont have a 3d bluray or avr yet lol..

Get a ps3 and you can rent 3D from the store or watch online 3D from VUDU.

I have to agree with the panasonic cs as I had good dealings with them regarding my warranty for my panasonic projector

nice to hear. My brother bought a Panny plamsa asfter he saw mine. Not long after he bought it he started having issues. I told him to call Concierge. They attempted to fix it, they couldn't the call Best buy told them my brother was going in to exchange the TV. Seeing as BB didn't have the 50" Panny authorized BB to replace it with a 55".

I've bought Panasonic products going back as far as the early 1970's and have always found their products built with integrity and I never had any problems with them that required a repair. Thank you DMara for your story, it's rare to find a company anymore who stands behind their product like Panasaonic. It's unfortunate a company as Samsung won't stand behind their tvs ,pissed a lot of people off ,let me tell you. This makes me want to buy a Pansonic tv in the future.

Good stuff. We had the HDMI inputs on our Samsung go out. It was a couple months outside of their 1 year warranty (for a TOTL samsung). It took a while, but they ended up replacing it under warranty with enough bitching...lol.

My mom's "complaint" about Panasonic products....they never break down and she had to put up with using old appliance/electronics decade after decade

I have always liked the performance/price ratio they offered.
Even their cheap DVD players are decent, compared to others in the same price bracket.

Their car audio may offer even more bang for buck.
I really like their head units considering the money involved.

That VT50 is amazing. I'm sure you got a lot of people checking their sets for defects. Lol

I have a Panny Plasma bought in Dec 2008 with nary an issue. Great picture too! Bought the BDP215 BluRay player a couple months ago - works great, and came with a free copy of Avatar in 3D.

Like others here have said I've never had an issue with a Panny product - Oh wait, I did have a Technics tape deck that was a piece of crap. It sounded great when it worked, which wasn't for very long. That was many years ago . . .

I doubt that will happen, but for the record, I love my 1200!

I also love Panasonic plasma TV's. I just got my mom a new 50" a few weeks ago from Sam's Club. It was the TC-50PU54 model, which I believe is the same as the TC-P50U50; it's just a special model number for Sam's because they are so special. Even for being on the lower end of the scale (and the lowest for the full HD models), it is a fantastic TV. The picture is awesome, with excellent blacks. I'm kinda jealous actually!

Several years back, Panny replaced my original 42" plasma with a newer version because of purple artifacts which was a common problem with some of their early plasmas. It was very painless, almost no questions asked. A rep came out to view it, then came back a week later with the new model. The replacement is still looking good after more than 4 years.
