Snell Type D for Dared MP5 ?

I recently picked up a Dared MP-5 clone and am considering possible speakers for this great little integrated. I have some 5b's that need a lot of work and, until they're done, would like to consider trying some others. Here are specs pasted for the Fatman equivalent:
I have a buddy that is willing to sell me his Snell Type D's at well below market value. I've heard them maybe twice, but it was so brief and long ago, that I really have no lasting impression of them. They look to be efficient but are 3-ways. The rear tweeter is switchable. They seem to be fairly well thought of. I will not be able to audition the speakers. The target room is a small office, 11'x13'x9'.

Any thoughts on how the Type D might match up with the tubelets or comments on the character of their sound?
Others to consider (used <$300)?
Thanks,
Craig

Why not bring the clone to his home and test it out. The Type D is 8 ohms / 90db sensitivity. If the impedance doesn't dip too low, it should be very tube friendly. Doesn't matter if it's three way or not. The most sensitive speakers I owned were 3-way at 104db sensitivity. No problem with a 3w/ch amp.

Not able to audition or match up with the amp. It would be a meet-half-way trade sort of thing.b]Beach Audio[/b]: Rega RP6 (mods) - AT33PTG/II - Parks Budgie SUT - PSAudio NPC * Eversolo DMP-A6 * Topping D90iii * Joule-Electra LA-100 mkIII * Pass Aleph 30 * MIT S3 * Polk SRS 2.3tl (mods) * PSAudio PPP3

That's always tough. Hopefully someone here have had experience with that combo.

1st $300 for snell D is a great deal! That said, they are NOT efficient. 89 db 13 watt tube will not give it enough juice in my opinion. If you listen to it quietly, then you shoud be ok but, if you want any kind of volume, the 13 watts will run out of steam quick.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I was thinking the same thing erniejade. Those Snells wont open up with that amp. Although 13 watts of Tube power is nothing to sneeze at, 89db speakers are.
I also do not like titanium or hardened tweeters with Tubes. I prefer Silk or trilam types by a long way. -
Gotcha. Many thanks for the advice. Opinions on good alternatives much appreciated.

Peter Snell made some fantastic speakers and those Type D's fall in that category. They do however, like power to sound their best.#1 Pass F5/Dared Sl2000a/Nola Boxers/Basis Audio 1400/Audio Technica AT33EV Phono Cartridge/Cambridge Audio 640P-Hypno Modded/GF DAC09/CPU
