One of the guys here hooked me up with a great evaluation board. The DAC/Audio is great. I would have used it myself but the board is fairly large. If you were to use it in your system you would want to mount it in a standard 17" wide enclosure. What you will need is a good 12-0-12 or 15-0-15 transformer, and a a 6-0-6 transformer. The analog section is a breeze to work with. I have the PDF on this rare evaluation board, but I can't find the thread started by the guy who gave it to me. It is a great sounding DAC. It will come with good OpAmps, and is so easy to try different OpAmps with to help deciding which OpAmp you like best. All I want is to make sure you are truly interested and will pursue this if the Karma flows your way. I spent a long time trying to find the threads about this DAC. I hope the Polkie that hooked me up has a link to thread with info on this DAC. It is set up as standard output. The "balanced" output wasn't really a true stereo balanced output, and for the short run the ease of swapping different cables is much better single ended.

OK requirements
Please let me know your intentions with this DAC

If you find yourself not using it please pass the DAC on to another Polkie. It is very pleasing to listen to and a great learning tool.

Last step is to pic a number from1-100

The winner will be chosen by another Polkie besides me. Everyone with some DIY under their belt is open to the Karma. Feelings or friendships have nothing to do with this Karma.     I'm game. I think I want to move on from my unpronouncable chinese DAC. I would love to complete the build on this.

    We all know "81 rules!", so I'll go with that.

    Cool!! Looking forward to playing with this. I'll be comparing it to my Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus (the newest version) which can also do 192/24. I just have to find the right transformers but I've got a good source for that. Thanks again Ben for an awesome karma!! PM sent.

    Received this today. I'm stoked at diving into a nother audio project. I'm curious to see how it will stack up to my brand new Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus (yes the newest one). That is a very good sounding unit that does 192/24 as well.
