Your asking about 5 or 6 channel power amps, which we don't understand since you specified 2 speakers. Why do you need a 5 channel amp to power 2 speakers ?

If your going to use just the receiver, hook it straight up, no need to bi-amp or bi wire. You certainly can if you want to, you won't hurt anything. If a seperate amp is what your looking at, you'll need to specify new or used, and explain why you want a 5 or 6 channel amp for 2 speakers.....that part isn't computing.

New or used, there's an endless supply of quality amps out there that would do just fine. Adcom, Parasound, B&k, Sunfire/carver, Musical Fidelity, Bryston, Belles, Rotel, the list can go on and on.

You've got a fairly beefy AVR so why not look at a 3ch or even a 2ch amp and let the Onkyo do the work powering your surrounds and center if necessary?

If your local Craigslist is somewhat active, you can pick up used Adcom, Carver, etc amps for well under $500.

I'm running a 5ch Sony ES amp that has four channels bridged into two channels giving me 200w/ch and the fifth channel runs my center (at 120w). Then my Onkyo 808 runs my surround and back surround speakers. Setup works great.

My speakers are the same except I'm running A7's.

Carvers are a nice pair for RTi's. The warm amp offsets the brightness of the RTi's. A Parasound will also make for a good amp, but you wont find a newer one under $1000, especially a 5 channel.

Don't know how this would sound with the RTi's, but I love it with my LSi 15's. Tough to beat for a new piece IMO.

They constantly sell for new prices(1000.00) or more. Plus if they've never ever been recapped you're looking for another 400/500 dollars to have that done. Very desirable but pricey so be prepared to outlay some tall coin....
