Never had this issue before. Set up is in lower level finished basement. Fifteen amp modular breaker has popped twice. So I figured I better leave it alone for now. Was listening to The Current. Radio station w only one two channel amp while I played Gran Turismo on PS3. My only guess is to get a new fifteen amp breaker and install it? We did get 2 1/2 inches of rain in the last twenty four hours? Carpet is dry. As always, thanks for any and all help. Darryl

Circuit breakers do sometimes go bad. I would try a new breaker. If you have someone with the right electrical meter you could measure the load on the circuit. A bad outlet that is arcing can also cause the breaker to trip.

Could be a bad breaker, but also, check what else is on that breaker. Washer and dryer.....A/C, can suck up the juice, then when you hit dynamic passages and your amp needs to kick it up a notch, the breaker trips. May need to plug the system into an area in the basement that doesn't have additional heavy loads on the line.

I think with the XPA2 and 3 on a 15 amp breaker with the rest of your gear and any other items that run off this breaker you are overloading the circuit and causing the breaker to trip. I think you should try and distribute some of this load to some other circuit or run another 20 amp circuit for the amps.

I vote for a possibly bad breaker. I also think Zane has a very good idea. Separate the load some or add another 20amp circuit if you can.

Thanks for all the help. Replaced the breaker and for three hours now everything is fine. Darryl

Those amps aren't even close to needing a seperate 20amp circuit, give me a break. They are standard run of the mill amps, nothing special as far as voltage or current draw. That doesn't mean a circuit isn't overloaded because of too many devices but it's not the amplifiers by themselves.

Sounds like the new breaker solved your problem.
