Hey guys...........I've been looking for a SDA pin/blade interconnect cable for my 1C's. I came across a polk original pin/blade with some type of transformer attached. Could someone tell me.....what's the deal with the transformer. Also, the cable is about 25 ft.......How much would you pay for that?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can use non common ground amps with this. I'd pay $125-$150.

Put simply the transformer serves the purpose of allowing the use of amplifiers with bridged /balanced output stages (ie. non common ground) by isolating the negative speakers terminals of each channel from each other.

Thanks for your help leroyjr1 and FTGV. That helps me alot. I'm assuming it's OK to use a common ground amp with this cable as well.....Am I right?

Yes it is, in fact some say that it sounds better using the AI-1 with a common ground amp than using the regular cable.
