There's a lot of music out there that no-one knows about.
Here's one band that really flew under the radar, unfortunately. They produced only 2 albums, Mr. Funny Face, and Get A Taste.
They classified themselves as punk, but I grew up with ACTUAL punk, (Ramones, Sex Pistols, Wendy O. Williams etc.), and thses guys are way too talented to be slapped with that genre.

At first they may sound punk-ISH, but just listen:cool:

Give '' Pere Ubu- 30 Seconds Over Tokyo '' a listen or better yet ''rocket from the tombs- 30 seconds over tokyo''. Big following here and Europe, still together and touring.

Wow....Pere Ubu came immediately to mind.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but wild and challenging.

"The Modern Dance" has been running around in my head since I first heard it in 1978.

If you are a fan you just gots to get the 5 CD box set "Datapanik In The Year Zero".
Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player

This is a great album from 74.

GOOD tune. At first I thought that was Fleetwood Mac (the girl in the pic looks like Stevie)

Damn right there is....just turn on your local college radio station. There are literally thousands of very good bands out there that are churning out all kinds of new music. I guess I am just seconding your motion, due I think alot of people are missing out on some great new music.

I'd recommend the band White Lies. They're a modern UK band and they kick butt. Very similar sound to 80's Brit pop bands like Depeche Mode. I saw them live a couple of years ago and they're awesome. Not many U.S. shows, but hopefully that changes some day.

A band that I've been digging lately that is kinda' flying under the radar is Useless I.D. They're a pop-punk band... from Tel Aviv, Israel. But you would never guess that to hear them, and as a fan of old school pop-punk, I gotta say that it's nice to hear a singer in this genre who can actually SING.
