Now I have pioneer sc-35
front rti12
surround rti10
back rti8
center csi5
sub 404
Now I bi-amp rti12 and rti8 for surround . put rti10 away. because I think sc-35 no enough power for 7.1 but I want
7.1
my question is : sc-35 is good enough? or add power amp?
If need. Give me some model for amp ?
Thanks

With all the towers being ran in your setup an external amp is a must. What kind of budget do you have in mind?

I mean
If I use rti12 fornt . rti10 surround . csi5 center. 404.
for 5.1
use sc-35 or add amp. big different?
Anybody suggest some 5 channel amp?
Sc-35 is 140w per channel. I should add amp has 200w+ per channel? Give me some model please. -
Yes, big difference. I can recommend a $300 amp or a $5000 amp but need to know your budget.

$700---$1200
Thanks anybody -
I mean just match my setup. same level

Let the Pioneer do the surround duty and use an Emotiva Amp to power everything else.

Thank you very much. I will search xpa-5
hca-2205a better? -
You will not know which is better until you hear it with your other equipment. Sorry, that's just the nature of the beast. If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I think the warmer sounding parasound will suit your RTI's much better. -
Yep I would go for a warmer sounding amplifer. I run a Carver A-753x 250x3 for my L,C,R speakers.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
Amplifier: Carver A-753x 250 watts x 3
Fronts: Polk RTI A7 (modded by Trey VR3)
Center: CSI A4 (modded by Trey VR3)
Rear: FXI A4
Sub: Polk DSW Pro 660wi
TV: LG Infinia 50PX950 3D
Speaker Cable: AudioQuest Type 8
IC: AudioQuest Black Mamba II -
john2009, an add on amp will help out a lot, check out B&K amps or Parasound they are nice amps if you have the coin for them new that is.Used they can be had for around 1g to 1.5 gs.I went with an Emotiva XPA-5 and like it a lot got mine new.Maybe looking into a Carver Sunfire used they are nice amps too.All the amps are built like tanks and will do you well for HT.

Yes I like warmer sounding amp. Long time before I listened the parasound 2 channel amp and I like the sound.
I will try get hca-2205a. But any other amp like this?
Thanks ereryone. -
If you like warmer sounding amps then stay clear of Emotiva. Not bad for HT but Warm they are not.
B&K, Parasound, NAD, Rotel are all much warmer sounding amps. I listed them warmer to more sterile or neutral. -

I had the HCA1500A that was powering my RTi12's in the past and it was a beautiful match. I love the warmer sound and amount of current the older Parasound HCA's have. And so did my 12's ! BTW, if you do look for the 2205 try to get a 2205at if you can unless there is a big differance in price. I am a Parasound(John Curl) fan for life.HT System
