Wondering how this mix of old & new speakers would sound

Was hoping maybe someone else had tried this mix before. I was thinking about using my old Monitor 5's as fronts and an RM 705 5.1 to make a 7.1 set-up. I have a Pioneer VSX-1021-K. I know it won't be the best set-up, but would it sound decent? Even if no one has experience with this exact set-up, anyone who is familiar with these products feel free to speculate about this combo. Thanks in advance for your help.
