Polk T15 break in?
Hi!
I bought a pair of polk T15 bookshelf loudspeakers to replace an old pair of polk m3 monitors.
Nevertheless the m3 monitors sound better than the new T15 . The polks m3 have a smooth detailed sound
and the T15's sound some harsh and more to the bright side. Should I wait for breaking in for improve in sound?
TIA

Sounds about right. The M3's are unfortunately better speakers. Perhaps opt for some Monitor Series 2 speakers from Newegg. They should be a bit more laid back those the T15's. But if you really want to keep that smooth sound that you're used to with the M3's, I'd recommend searching for vintage Monitor speakers like the Monitor 5's or 7's. Models with Peerless tweeters are especially warm-sounding.Display: Sony 42" LCD

Break-in will only solve your problem to the extent that you get used to the sound. I'd reopen the speaker search.

I'm the original poster , and just to comment that after a couple of hours the sound is better and is improving
trough the time.

I have a pair hooked up to a 35wpc old onkyo reciever in a guest room and after a couple of weeks they sounded just fine, well worth the price. I got mine for $49.99 on black Friday last YearHome Theater

I think for rock music they sound better than the comparably priced Monitor 30's. But I don't listen to much rock anymore. Still they don't sound bad for the $ spent.
