Given the numbers of cable/sat/internet subscribers, one has to wonder who exactly the fcc is protecting.

Good point Tony, but I feel the general Q public is turning back to ota signals as I think we all can see the cost savings. Given prime time shows being ABC, NBC, or CBS why not.

I agree that OTA TV should be able to broadcast pretty much anything, but the Parents For Decent Television (or whatever they are called) would go ballistic. What I do wish is that OTA would make better shows like cable, cut the good stuff out so it can meet FCC standards, and then release the uncut show when the DVD is released. Battlestar Galactica would have been a lot better with naked Boomers and Sixes running around.

We tried but we live in an area with heavy tree cover and it disrupts the OTA signal. Even so, there are just too many shows that we enjoy to go without cable. It saved us some money for a few months and when we went back, we saved by going basic cable.

As of Sunday we have no cable...so they say. They deactivated my HD pvr, so I decided to try and just connect the tv directly to the wall cable plug and there I have 62 ch (non hd mind you) for free.
