Anybody got a Directv HR-22 or HR-24 HD DVR receiver with a remote they want to sell? I already got the HD satellite installed and it will cost $219 to rent a new extra receiver, so I'm looking to go the used route and save.

Thanks!

Good luck wih that. You probably already know that directv no longer sells those receivers. Those prices are for leased receivers. They are all leased and owned by directv. Anyone who trys to sell you one doesn't actually own and when you go to activate it directv won't let you. Sorry man.

I'm ok with using last years model. No biggie. I'm only interested in buying one that has been previously owned by a Directv customer. Then I'll need to purchase an new Directv access card. Read here if you want more info about it: http://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/265/~/activating-used-receivers-to-your-account

Ok I'm home and checked what was in the closet.... Don't have a HR22 or HR24 DirecTV receiver. I have a HR10-250 receiver. If that would work for you let me know.

DTV should just rent you one. I was a customer for many years and I had 4 DVRs in my home. I simply paid a monthly fee for each, something like $6 each.

I'd call them up and ask for Custoemr Retention. If they won't transfer you, then call and tell them you want to cancel. They'll transfer you then.

No thanks. That model doesn't have MPEG-4, so I'm only sticking to HR-22 and 24.

Yep, I saw that one, but I'm a little hesitant doing business on ebay. I'd much prefer dealing with a Polkie :) If I don't get any bites, I may have to try ebay.

    OK, I found out it's a HR21-700, not HR22 or 24.
