Would it be worth it to add a real wood veneer to my 1B's?
It would look so much better
Thanks

Others have done the very same with many of the older speakers ( RTA's, Monitors and SDA's) with some very good results. Do a search and you should come up with a few.
If you did deceide to do some veneer that would cut the cost of a new base and match very well to the cabinets. -
Hay Kidglove here is a link I had saved to give you an idea about veneer .

Thanks for the threads
Wow some of those guys really take it to the next level
I think that I will stick with making the new bases and adding spikes for now
I am now where near taking that type of plunge -
They have veeners that are iron on, I have no idea how they would work, I like the contact cement route.
This outfit has excellent photo's of various woods. I have some a couple of salt cellars made out of olive wood, beautiful, and I see this outfit has olive wood veneers. http://www.veneersupplies.com/Radio Station W7ITC -

I agree his work will bring tears to your eyes. Here is a recent thread on a pair of LSi7's he just did. The above mentioned links have a ton of info in there and probably any question you have will be answered in one of them.
