The Excess material in the rubber surrounds on the MW-6503 driver

I was warned about the excess material on the surrounds of the MW-6503?s getting in the way of the mounting screws; I trimmed the excess and had thought I had taken proper care of this issue. Well it was not enough the original screws would not hold anymore so I had to go with a slightly larger size this didn't work I noticed after a few days of use the surround was deforming. The screw head, a tiny bit larger in diameter, apparently could not have any contact with the rubber surround at all. I had to re-use the original screws, In order to make then tighten down properly I had to do a trick with my hot glue gun. First you fill the hole with the hot glue, and with a sharpened stick, I use a bamboo chopstick, insert the chopstick in the hole and rotate it while the glue sets up, the screw will then have something to tight down with. I am going to do a proper job with a threaded metal insert and screw so this problem does not happen anymore. Parts Express has what I am looking for, and it is cheap. (See below) Notice the screws have a hex head. This is important the reason being you cannot use the wrong tool, and the hex key locks into the screw and it is much more difficult for it to slip out and put a hole in the speaker cone.

I realize that your hot glue fix is temporary, but it's a poor one. Use wood glue or 5 minute epoxy instead as hot glue has no holding power.

As for the T-nuts.....STOP, do not use them as they will destroy the particleboard. Instead use Hurricane nuts. Parts Express part #081-1080.

If the hole is too large for the Hurricane nut to get a grip, use 5 minute epoxy to secure it in place.

Why not rotate the driver 20* and drill (4) fresh pilot holes? Sure the driver won't be 100% symmetical with the other drivers in the cabinet or with the other speaker (not sure what speaker model you are talking about), but that is something that would work.

I forgot to mention that you should add the Hurricane nuts to all the drivers and PR's. The result is similar to adding Larry's rings in that it improves clarity, cleans up the mid-range and tightens up the bass.

Hurricane nuts are a little different from T-nuts - what's pictured above. They have a smaller shaft with smaller "wings" that bite into the hole they go into.

I bought mine from Parts Express.
