Ok, I currently have 28's in the front and a 404 sub. 38's are too big for the space I have. I have gon to 5 differnt CC stores and these clowns still have them on the shelf for $139.00 each. I asked about discounts, one manager offered open box pair for $229.00. Well Crutchfield has NEW pair for $199 with no tax and free shipping. Does anyone know any other internet dealer that may have a bargain price on these? J&R has them for $149.00 but $55 shipping (no coupons for free shipping available). I rather not purtchase thru e-Bay. PLEASE HELP. Also CSi30 bargain would also be appreciated.

well your not going to get them much cheaper then that.. The popular polks, Ie: rti70, 28's,38's and the center channels wont go much cheaper then they are now.. deals can be had for the 150's, some subs, 100's.. fxi's/// But 199.00 is pretty cheap.. My CC has full price still also. They went for 279.99 + tax 6 months ago and they never got that cheap.. with all the sales going on, I just found a contact where i can get 28's black or cherry for 189.00 shipped, and 229 shipped for 38's black or cherry.. NON auth dealer though

If all else fails you can wait to find a pair @ CC when they REALLY want to get rid of them. Like say when their replacements show up and they dont have any more room for them. Assuming they last that long. I picked up a pair of 38's for about $175 including tax. Floor model.... and a NIB FXi30 set for $150 with tax!

We don't discount stuff per-store just to move it, and we don't move things to openbox just to move them. If we have closed box ones in the back they still on the shelf at normal clearence price set by corporate till they are gone.

    Keith,
I might be wrong but I bought speakers within the past month at my store while other stores were in deed still selling them at a higher price. Some stores still at normal price. It might come down to a regional manager, but yes your pricing does vary depending upon which store you go to.... for that matter look at the discrepencies between web and store pricing. So I would deduct that nation wide, management prolly lets regional people handle pricing.

    Keith,
While I'm at it.... not tryin to go after you, but why would a CC manager tell me that Crutchfield sells "refurbished" goods trying not to pricematch a CSi40 for me?????????? If you have the policy, stick to it or get outta the marketing sham. We all know that Crutchfield DOES NOT!! (except for their scratch and dent stuff that is)

I got a pair of RTi-38s for $140 at the local CC too. They were selling them for 90 bucks a piece on clearance, but since they didn't have anything beside the floor model, I negotiated them down to $70 a piece. I got another pair of 100's for $150 a piece. They were floor models as well and I had to negotiate with them on those too. If you're not desperate for speakers, drop by CC every week or so and see what they have on clearance. If you're lucky, you'll walk into a great deal. :)

While I was shopping for the 28's, I saw 3 differnt prices for the 38's. Full price, open box and clearance. CC reps always knock Crutchfield and other dealers. A local higher end (not true high end, but higher than CC...they carry paradign, Polk LSi and Elite) dealer that carries POLK knocked CC all over the place. But, the same 28's at CC were $45 cheaper. Nobody likes competition except customers.
