What Amp should i get and how to break the sub in?

I just Bought a Polk Audio 12" Dxi 112 in a preloaded box. this is my first sub woofer and i was wondering what would be the perfect amp for me to get the best quality i can out of my sub and i want it to run cool and effectivly. reading different reviews on Best Buy, i read that alot of people blew this sub out right away and didnt like it at all, so i want to make sure that doesnt happen to me. what is the best way to break in a new sub? This sub looks well built and i want to make sure that i get the perfect amp and for everything to run the way it is supposed to. also i want to make sure that the amp i get isnt overpowering so i can have it loud as possible! please help me figure this all out, Thanks!
