Configuring the Netgear WGR-614 as an access point. They were on sale for $35, much cheaper than the WG602 access point so I disabled the DHCP, NAT, and firewall and turned it into an AP. Not bad for the price.

I quickly realized that my existing network was inadequate so picked up a Netgear ProSafe switch today:

Put some casters on the rack and slid it into its permanent location. Woo hoo!

By luck it fit perfectly, with the closet door just clearing the volume knob.

Shouldn't that receiver have some room to breath?

Yes, it's fan cooled. Middle Atlantic has a rack fan kit that sits on the back pulling out hot air, but I decided to make my own out of 2 PC cooling fans. As a result, only 1/2" is necessary for cooling.

Approx. how many hours did it take to make that virtual universal remote? Customize that for a Nexus 7, Kindle HD, etc. and you could be looking at some extra coin each month.

I'd rather rebuild small engines for a few extra dollars each month... just sayin'

I changed the head gasket on my lawn mower and it was fun!

No problem. I have 2 fans for cooling on the back of the rack.

New pics to be updated in the Part 2 thread.
