Hey everybody,

After taking a long hiatus from the hobby for a while, I have started to get back into it and am changing up my gear like we all do. This player has been in my family for a long time and I am sad to let it go. I'm hesitant to let go since it is a simply incredible SACD player for the price and is built as well as anything I've ever seen short of a Gryphon I've seen in showroom (doesn't really count). Very hefty and weighs around 30 pounds. Plays SACD, DVD-A, DVD, pretty much anything short of Blu. The upscaling really does come surprisingly close to what the Oppo 83 does and has much better color and depth than my PS3. Main reason for selling is I'm upgrading to a quality DAC and will be forgoing SACD until I can afford the SACD player of my dreams. I'm sure I will regret it soon.

This player is identical to the Onkyo DV-SP1000 that is more common with one exception: this player has the ability to upscale composite or S-video sources via the inputs on the back. I never used this feature but it may be useful for someone with a quality source using a legacy connection?

A bit of disclosure, the player fell off the front of a stand (damn BDR cones on glass surface make players slide) from a height of about 2 feet and sustained a small chip in the front left side of the faceplate and caused the blue lights behind the Play and Stop buttons to stop lighting. I had the player checked out by a tech and the damage was only cosmetic limited to those parts. The only other quirk that is common with these players is that they like to be warmed up for before reading any homemade (aka burned) DVD's. Plays regular DVD's, CD's, SACD's right away from a cold start. The disc mechanism is the smoothest one I have ever seen for under $5000 and really shows how serious they were when building this thing. If only all electronics could be built this well.

Comes with an impressive metal frame back-lit remote.

Pictures will be up soon. I have priced this thing to sell so somebody will get a superb player for the price. I've owned a bunch of other sub $500 used players and this one was easily the best and was about even for my tastes to the Cambridge 840c and Emotiva ERC-1. YMMV.

$215 plus shipping (probably around $40 for quality packing and shipping)

PM with any questions.
