I have been trying to stream Music to my living room for some time. I will eventually get a Squeeze box, but that may not be for a little while (have my third and final child coming by Christmas). I have heard of DNLA and have multiple capable devices for it. I just never paid it any mind because I always thought it to be a MS product.

Last night I stumbled on a free software program (tvmobili) that allowed my Imac to connect to my Panny Bd 210 and Lg Lw6500. Gave it a test via the Bluray player and was pleasantly surprised. It sounded significantly better than streaming Pandora through the Bd player. The only issue I have is the interface is slow and ugly on the Blu ray player. I checked it on the TV and it has a beautiful interface complete with album art and is lighting fast. I have not had a chance to test the sound output from the TV yet as that will require some additional wiring.

#1 Is there better programs to use with the Imac that may change the way the interface on the bluray player works or is the interface solely dependent on the Panny BD player?

#2 Does anyone think there will be a significant difference in sound streaming from the LG TV vs. the Panny BD?

P.S. I know neither is audiophile quality... But so far I think it will work just fine for me.

Thanks for any Input. I will only be using DNLA for Music and Pictures.

I have my music stored on a hard drive and I use my EVO 4g Android phone with a DLNA program called bubbleupnp to control what music is being streamed to my receiver through my wireless network.

I like this setup because you can tell it to do what you want wirelessly from anywhere in your house... You just select what device you want to grab from and where you want to send it to...

I use Windows based stuff, but the idea is the same... It sounds great to me and is super convenient...

BTW... You can stream it directly to the sc-35 for decoding so that it is using the internal dac from the receiver... That is assuming the receiver is connected to the network
