Dropping in peerless tweeters?

There's a deal on a pair of monitor 10's on my local craigslist and might snag them. Only problem is I would probably need to get rid of my monitor 5's to rationalize the purchase. Can I take the peerless tweeters out of my 5's and put them into the 10's, then put the SL-2000's from the 10's into the 5's?

From what I read, Peerless and SL2000 are not compatible both in size and crossover/frequency.

Crossovers, etc. are different as pointed out. Peerless is NOT a drop in for anything but itself. So you have to sell the 5s to justify the 10s? Really? I have 5As and 10As and was, recently, considering getting a pair of 7bs from a guy not too far away who was moving. Unfortunately, a snowstorm blew away my 'window of opportunity" as he moved and decided (rightly) that he had room for his 7s. My loss his gain!
It's not like we're talking a lot of Money here: you could get both 5s and 10s for less than what a pair of new RTi-A1s cost?

Option 1. buy Mon.10s,add RDO-194 tweets and keep old Mon. 5s intact . (preferred) Option 2. Sell me Mon. 5s, buy 10s, add RDO-194 tweets, regret selling 5s! Sell the original Silver 2000 tweets to help underwrite the RDO-194 costs. (both scenarios) Where ya got those 5s at ?????

Haha, alright alright, no gouging of speakers will occur. I just had a rescued pair of Ohm model L's completely reconed so that is also partly why I was debating getting rid of the 5's but I don't think I have the heart to do it.

I would not get rid of 5's.
They are one of the best speakers I've heard in that size.

They are really good, but I prefer my model L's slightly more and they are a little harder to come by.
