The replacement pair of MW-6503 monitors will be here in a day or so. Both of these drivers are going into one speaker. I was thinking last night should I shuffle things around so there is an original MW-6503 paired with a new one in each speaker balance the sound or is it going to matter much once the new ones are broken in,

I would also put one in each box. Don't know if it would make a big difference but its a solid plan.

It seems like the thing to do. I will being burning in the recap'ed XO as well this is going to very interesting. There is also the reported problem with the MW-650X's magnets slipping the originals are over 20 years old and have not had this problem. The technology for adhesives has improved over the years so I wonder if I need to add some epoxy to the magnets as insurance.

If you have them apart (as in the drivers out of the cabinet) JB Weld the magnets for added peace of mind. It's rare the magnet slips if the speaker is stationary. It usually happens when people move the speaker around and even a mild bump or jarring can cause the magnet to shift because the original adhesive is worn out.

I have moved my SDA 1C's and Monitor 5B's twice and not had an issue. But I was very careful both times. I will be JB welding the drivers very soon for added peace of mind.
