I installed four Polk RD0-194 replacement tweeters in my speakers,

Polk L SDA-SRS-2 1755
Polk R SDA-SRS-2 1756
Blade/Blade Interconnects

and I have one question about the wiring after reading this post,

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?132178-Wired-out-of-Phase

Did I wire them correctly

Right speaker
SL2000 with white wire connected to top lead, black wire connected to bottom lead. Polk name on right side of outer mounting plate. Connected RD0-194 tweeter with white wire to red male lead, black wire to silver lead. Did not notice any distinguishing marks on those SL2000 leads.

Left Speaker
SL2000 with white wire connected to bottom lead, black wire connected to top lead. Polk name on left side of outer mounting bracket. Connected RD0-194 tweeter with white wire to red male lead, black wire to silver lead.

Speakers sound great, as usual, after only 2 hours listening. Full tonal range and sound stage from the outer edges through the center. I hear they get much better after about 48 hours.

Thanks for any advice!

Too bad you bought the 194s. You could have upgraded to the 198s by buying two capacitors, and installing them into the high-frequency crossover network.

White wire to red-marked speaker terminal is probably NOT correct--but the schematics are listed in another thread, and I'm going to verify them in a minute or two.

[EDIT] The various wiring diagram show that the white wires are ground. The black or blue wires should go to the + terminal of the tweeters.

The SL2000 tweeters I've seen have + and - scratched into the tweeter, they're very hard to see.

Thanks Schurkey -- that's what I was afraid of. I'll rewire them tonight.

Looking at the SL2000s this morning I strained my eyes a little to see red dots near the base of one lead on each of 2 tweeters. Very slight red markings on both leads of 1 tweeter and no distinguishable marks on the fourth tweeter. I did see those scratches, but they just looked like scratches to me at the time. There's a straight line molded into the plastic mounting plate that someone scratched across to make a + sign.

I thought the bass was a little tighter and the treble was a little more centered after installing the 194s, but it's a fairly subtle perception.

As for the 198s -- I'm not comfortable with replacing capacitors yet. I'd have to watch someone do it first. Maybe one day!

    Thanks again,

    Rob

Much different sound with black/blue wires to red tweeter blade -- thanks!

I just ordered some RDO-194 replacement tweeters. So just to be clear, the black/blue wire connecting to the red tweeter blade IS the proper connection?

    SDA chassis wire color code....

    Black or Blue are positive.
    White or Green are negative.
