Though there is more to this than the speakers I'm putting this here because to me that's by far the best part.

it's Christmas time at my house. Well for me anyway; not so much my wife.

I just picked up a pair of 1.2TL's along with the below list of equipment
Carver- M4.0T
- (2)M400a
-M200T
-C1
-TX11a
ADC SS30 with mic
Nakamichi ZX7 (for those cassette fans)
Pioneer PL-L1000 turntable
Polk CS100 center in an oak cabinet (never seen one before)
(4) JBL Control 5 plus with Control sub
Yamaha CD changer (2) Yamaha processors and a Yamaha 5.1 receiver.
Many original Polk brochures
owners manuals for everything, and original purchase receipts (not worth anything but kind of cool to look at.
1.2's have interconnect cable, original boxes with all original packaging material, wall braces, and what he said were original spikes but they just look to be small pieces of threaded rod. Not like any spike I've ever seen.
and a pile of misc wiring.

The 1.2's are mint except for 1 small ding in the edge of one of the top plates. he said that happened in an earthquake in Japan. That scared me at first knowing how the magnets can shift, but all appears in great working order.

I pretty much just wanted the 1.2's but he wanted to sell the whole lot together if possible. The price was excellent for the whole lot. I've actually seen SRS's go for much more than I paid for all of this, so it was hard to turn down. I'll play with this stuff for a while and compare to other gear I'm currently using and then turn some stuff to recoup.

SWEET! Man I am so excited!

Pictures soon.

It's against the law in S.C. to get that much stuff at one time. WoW!

Now that really sounds like a great "plug & play" system.

Be sure to post up some pictures when you have time.

Did the seller know what he (or she) was selling?

It's only a steal if the price was tremendously undermarket and the seller didn't know. Some people just want something gone.

I actually had to make a 9+ hour round trip to pick it up close to Raleigh NC. but it was worth it.

I think the seller had an idea of value. but they had owned it all since new, purchased while he was in the military at much lower than retail prices, had moved into a small home and needed to get rid of everything quickly. Actually a couple of plug and play systems. Under market value would depend on what figures you use to arrive at what is considered market value. the cost of any SRS (original, 1.2, TL) has been all over the place from a few hundred to over 2k so its really kind of hard to figure true market value on them.

I haven't got to do a whole lot with it yet. It seems the furniture will need rearranging (enter the wife). Anyway, here are a few pictures of the gear. Lighting was not very good so the quality is not very good either.

Most of the gear. The corner cabinet was not included in this deal, but everything else here was.

The Yamaha gear with the Nak ZX7, JBL's and TT

    DSC_0993.jpg

CS-100 center in oak cabinet. Has anyone ever seen one of these before. I have only ever seen black. It matches the 1.2 caps perfectly.

1.2TL's in near Mint condition!!!!! Now I can compare these to my original SRS's and see/ hear what the differences are.

Well done! And I understand the military discount - I picked up a pair of 1.2TLs in Bitburg, GE for a steal. Not the deal you got for ALL that, though!!

I'm like you on the CS-100 finish, never knew they were available in oak.

Very nice! I'd be unloading that Carver gear, Especially the "cube amps" (m-400), and fund some really nice gear. People on ebay pay crazy prices for some of that stuff (unduly, IMO). But have fun playing around with it!

As mentioned before it depends greatly on how you determine market value. Most of the world uses E-bay to get some sort of determination of relative value now days. If using E-bay as a determining factor;just counting the pieces I could find and basing the 1.2's off of relative figures from SRS's and others since the 1.2's rarely turn up, I got it for between 25-30% of recent going rates.
I think it was a great deal, but others may see it different. When the set of 1.2's that are on E-bay right now finish I'll have a better idea, but I've recently seen SRS's go for a good bit more than what I got the whole lot for.
