What's a Good Asking Price for my LS90s?

I'm selling my black LS90 speakers with the CS350LS center. Here's a link with some photos:
http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nelly11299/

What do you guys think is a good asking price for them?

The left speaker pretty much has no scratches of any kind. The right speaker has a few scratches on the right side and top, but they are only visible in direct light. The left speaker has a few small stains in the fabric of the grill. All but 2 of the grill mounting tabs are intact for the right and left speaker. The center has all the mounting tabs and no scratches of any kind.

I have replaced the tweeters with brand new Polk SL6001 since the originals were old. They originals work and I'm including them as spares. The crossovers were modded with Dayton Audio Capacitors, Mills resistors, and one of the inductors was replaced with a Jantzen Air Core.

The speakers were run with an Adcom 535 for a month, then an Adcom 555 for the rest of the time I had them.

The speakers are perfect function wise, but the small scratches on the right speaker is what I'm concerned about.

The reason I'm selling these is my wife thinks that they are too big for the living room. I listened to some B&W 685s at a friends house and really liked them. My wife prefers the look of the B&W to the LS90.

Thanks!

Be careful of the rules. This appears to be a workaround.

Not at all. I am not trying to nor do I plan on selling them here at all. Only local in my area. I really don't know how much they are worth. If this violates the rules in some way, let me know which rule it violates because I read them and didn't not see this as a violation of the rules. I'm sorry, but I have seen plenty of people posting asking how much their stuff is worth and how much they can get for them.

    Silly Lego1...

It's not about how a speaker looks, rather it is about how they SOUND.

B&W sounds just ok to me, and I have heard them being pushed by some serious tube power. I would think the Polks can hold their own and thensome. Personally I would keep what you've got, and DON"T give in.
The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

I know. But as some of you married folks know, it's not always just about what I want :)

I saw a pair at a local shop for $400, but I felt that was a bit taxed. Another friend of my just picked up a pair for $300. Hope that helps.

Fair enough. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but we regularly have folks on here who ask how much their stuff is worth because they don't have enough posts to sell on the forum and then try to sell it. I don't really know what they are worth, but I would try to sell the center on ebay if you want maximum value for it.

As for replacements, if you really like the sound of the LS90s but need something smaller, why not get a pair of either rt35is or better yet, rt55is? Your center would match both of those as the share essentially the same tweeter, and the overall sound would be very similar, albeit with less bass. But with the rt55is, you would still have pretty good bass overall.

Thanks guys. I'll look into the ones you posted about rooftop. You're right, i dont have enough posts to sell, but there's no way I'll sell these on a forum or even audiogon since you guys know these are huge and weigh a ton.

I feel your pain. I have been able to hang on to my RTA11TL's but barely. When I brought home some Vienna Acoustics Hayden Grands to possibly replace them, my wife went into sticker shock and I returned them. She rarely brings up subject anymore. Now that I agreed to let her get her little yorkie puppy I figure I have more bargaining power to keep the RTA's. I just hope the pup doesn't decide to use them as chew toys.

I own a pair of LS 90's I would never sell. I purchased new in February of 1993. However, if I had to.......I would want $350 firm and local pickup. Oh, you could divorce her.....that is what I did. Stone of Tone
