OK, I'm a new, wannabe audiophile.
I have recieved some good advice in the speaker forum I have questions about pre-amps? should I use one? can I use one? what is the entry level?
set up
Onkyo TX-NR609
Polk audi RTI 8 fornt L/R
Polk audio CSI 5 center
Onkyo 10" powered sub
Onkyo surrounds R/L
Onkyo rear
The Onkyos are left over from an older HTIB but are not the small cube guys they have some pop. I just purchased the center and am moving on to the sub next. Someone mentioned I should not worry about the surrounds so much, as my reciever was not "Muscular" enough to push much more..thoughts?????? can I use a pre-amp to suplement, or is my receiver just to whimpy?
Thanks

First if want to integrate a 2 channel preamp into your HT your avr will need pre outs and you will need an external amp for the preamp. Then feed your Cdp and TT or music server into your preamp.
What is it you are wanting to accomplish ?Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs -

I wish to ensure that I can continue to add bits and pieces to my system in the vein I have begun to do, I also wish to get "the most" out of the good speakers I have. I listen to music and movies pretty heavily.
P.s. about 90 % of what you said above went right over my head but I appreciate the help yikes!!! thanks again. -
I simply see a LOT of people in their listings, showing an AVR and an AMP, I guess I just do not want to miss anything I suppose. I do not understand what it will do for me?
