Looks like there is a new brand of tubes again. This one is a Canadian company called Northern Electric. The tubes are not made in Canada.

Would be interesting to see how these compare to the Gold Lion re-issues.

    More rebranded Chinese tubes ?
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Seems that way. The water is muddy enough, IMO.

    Chumlie,
Why don't you find something more productive to do? We have mods here. No need for a forum police:rolleyes:.

    Madmax,
They certainly are. I plan to give them a try next time I use my 300B amp as it uses 12AX7 driver tubes.

    Decal,
I think the tubes are made in China, but I doubt they're re-branded Sino or Shuguang. There are quite a few companies who design their tubes some place else but commission a plant in China to build them to their specs (Tube Amp Doctor and Groove Tubes Mullard copies comes to mind).

Anyway, I'll post about them once I get a chance to try them.

I've been hot on the psvane and black treasure tubes lately. The black treasure 300B's really open up the soundstage and sound more full than the Sophia tubes I had (which are very nice!)

Thanks for the heads up on the Treasure tubes. I'd love to try them out in the future. For now, my next 300B will be the Shuguang mesh plates. I can't spend $500 on a pair of 300B yet. I still have an EL84 amp that also needs re-tubing. Gotta go on a lower budget for now.
