Speaker Tear Advice

Hey First Post

I need some advice I've got a tear in the bottom driver of my Rti12 is this fixable or replacement only. Anyadvice would really be great

    You could probably glue it but I would consider it a temporary fix until you get a replacement. There would always be a node which would tend to distort as well as the glue changing the cone mass.

    I am not sure what the material is so I am not sure what glue would be appropriate.

    Does it sound "wrong", do you notice a difference ? If not, I'd leave it the F alone ! :lol:

    Ditto ^^^.........it's only downhill from there without a replacement. Is that actually a tear or a scratch, hard to tell. If it's just a scratch, leave it alone and throw the grills back on. A tear, replace.

    I here ya its definately a Tear. Can you get replacements for the Rti12 as they are now discontinued. The Rti A9's are the latest model so are they the same driver and would it be sensible to get two and replace both sets so to match
    each speaker?

    try nail polish until you can get a replacemnt. That stuff is really tough as hell.
