I have the same player and love it. It is definitely on the slow side, but the pq and sq are outstanding. Will internally decode hd codecs and send it out over analog 7.1 (which was how I was using it for a while), and has separate 2 channel analog output which sounds really good for a bd player.

    GLWS!

Like rooftop, I have this model. But I use it primarily for CD playback in a secondary system (using its analog outs) because it is that GOOD! If you need an all-in-one unit (exempting SACD--because it doesn't do those). This is a nice BDP, DVD, CDP--that can compete with anything in its original MSRP price range $600 (including CDPs in that range).

Yeah, it's a little slow. But it's "worth" it!

    GLWTS!

"Where Wolfson™ Audio DACs — featuring a signal-to-noise ratio of 117db provide the purest, most pristine music and movie soundtrack performance available. And an exclusive Jitter Reduction Circuit utilizes Pioneer-developed IC to digitally reshape the waveform of the audio clock. Empowering the Pioneer BDP-51FD with a stunningly impressive ability to reduce jitter in every piece of content you see or hear."

If they are the same dac that are in my sc 27, it would sound good.
