Went to Hi-Fi Heaven yesterday, and got to listen to 4 different set-ups!
1st was a set of Tannoy Kensington SE(http://hifiheaven.net/store/Products/Speakers/Floorstanding-Speakers/Tannoy-Kensington-SE-Floor-standing-Loudspeaker-Demo) being run off an Onkyo A-9070! He used a Onkyo cd player,(cant rember the model#) And played a live version of Alice and Chains Rooster! Wow! Very detailed, and open! The speakers/source replayed the live event so crisp,i could hear the guitar buzz through the speakers!
Next I listened to some Vandersteen Model 3A Signatures http://hifiheaven.net/store/Products/Speakers/Floorstanding-Speakers/Vandersteen-Model-3A-Signature These were being run of a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnus Integrated, with a anthem CD player! I used the same song, and I got completely lost in the music! The instruments were coming from a live band, right in front of me,and Layne Staley was smack dab in the middle! Breathtaking!!!!!
I also got to listen to the $25,000 Martin Logan CLX Art ran off of Rogue mono blocks, and Martin Logan Ethos Premium, ran off of an Onkyo M-5000R,and they both sounded Amazing as well! I spent an hour and a half there and had a great time! I bought a DacMagic Plus, and left wishing i was starting from scratch on my system, and had 10g's to spend on it! Would love to go back and listen to that Rogue Integrated/the tannoy's,and multiple other speakers!
I think I see an Integrated tube amp in my future! Now,gotta start smoozin up to my wife!

The guys over at Hi-Fi are pretty good people. Bought my Legacy's from them and Pioneer avi59. Look for demo or used pieces, and you can get the system you lust after. Paying sticker......will never fly with the wife.HT SYSTEM-

Spot on Tony! The Rogue Integrated Demo can be had around $600 off msrp! Which brings it a little closer to reality! And congrats on your milestone! You've always treated me with great respect! Hi fi has great deals on demos. All my gear I bought from them were demos. My Legacy's retailed at over 7 g's, add tax and they had the upgraded ribbon mahogony finish which was a 500 buck option from the factory. They threw in shipping too, so 4 g's to my door with not a scratch on them. Half price made it more palatable to the wife. Can't say enough good things about them, pleasure to deal with on all accounts.
When your ready to jump, put them on your list. Your lucky to have them local to you.....or maybe not. If I had them local I'd probably spend my way to divorce.:cheesygrin:HT SYSTEM-

HIFI heaven really toned down their in stock inventory. Years ago you could barely walk around it was so much stuff in the store. Bought a ton of stuff there myself and never paid close to retail.

Sounds like a fun trip, the Cronus Magnum is a jewel, but of course I'm a little bias.

Tony's got Legacys? Tannoys and Legacys are the two brands I want to have a go at should I ever make another speaker move. The Legacy Focus HD/SE is quite compelling.
Two Channel Setup:
Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
DAC: Arcam irDac
Source: iMac
Remote Control: iPad Mini

Don't I know it bro. You need to get an ear on those. Supposedly better than my 20/20's but I'm in no rush to kick mine to the curb, thats how much I dig them. They'll definately take you off that speaker merrygo round for a long time.HT SYSTEM-

I like the guys at the shop there. I've bought a few things from them and had good luck.
I agree that the store has lost a lot. Also they no longer are a McIntosh dealer which was something I think that drew a lot of people to them.
They still have Krell which is nice but Legacy they haven't had in the store for awhile. They sold a pair of the focus and that was over 1.5 years ago and never got another set in to my knowledge. I haven't been there for awhile but the last time I heard the ML CLX's but were run off some Krell's and not the Rogues. Also they had the Tannoy's run of the Rogue which was some nice sound. Might have to travel over there sometime in the future see what they got but its going to be awhile.
If your in WI you could also check out Suess in Appleton. I personally have issues with them because of a deal on CL I got screwed over on by an employee there but overall their showroom is really nice. I think the sales people at Hi Fi are far better than Suess but thats just me. I asked a guy there what tubes a Mac pre amp was using and he said 8 of them.
