SDA 2.3 and audio research tube amp

Just got a Pair of sda 2.3's. Was unsure how to connect them to audio research classic 60 amp. SDA speakers apparently have to be connected differently ARC tube Amps because of the common connection between the two speakers. I could not find this in the forum so I called Audio research and they told me to connect the negative speaker wire to the 4 ohm output on the amp as this output is internally grounded and then connect the positive speaker lead to the 16 ohm amp output. If you require an inverted signal then connect the positive speaker lead to the 0 ohm output. According to Audio research all their products are non inverting so if you are using Audio research amp and preamp then use 4ohm and 16 ohm amp outputs. Failure to connect in this way could short out amp.

Not familiar with their equipment, but if that's their recommendation I'd follow it. I'm assuming that ARC is familiar with SDA speakers and their requirements."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer

If that's what the manufacturer says, do it. I'm just saying that it does not make sense to me. -
Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. I looked at the amp's schematic and the 4 Ohm tap is at ground potential, so follow their recommendations. That kind of output configuration is very common with ARC amps. You should have excellent performance with the speakers and amp.

Hooked of speakers as ARC told me to do, Powered it up and no smoke just some great sounding speakers. I thought the ARC classic 60 may be a bit too small power wise for these speakers but I was wrong. Thanks for replies
