Anybody into it? I've been fascinated with the architecture and decorating style since I was a pup. I recently lucked up and took home GOBS of authentic Japanese stuff that my girl's mom had in storage. She wasn't using it so my girl and I are decorating the den with it. Since our tastes match SO well, I do all the heavy lifting and she does the final touches. If I approve of her placement *which I have of everything* then it stays. She's so talented..
The room is coming together QUITE nicely and is a huge improvement from what I've had in the past. Once I get the Hibatchi *sp?* table, which is also authentic Japanese, cleaned and set up, I'll post pics and a review of my new, mostly polk system all in one fell swoop.

Quick question to all you woodophiles, what is the best rejuvinator for wood? It isn't faded and has a gorgeous contrast of black and red. Obviously I don't know the species of wood, but I wanna give it what it needs. It has some abrasions taking it down to bare wood, but otherwise is in excellent condition. I want to restore the abrasions and really bring out the beauty of this gorgeous piece of furniture. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anybody else into this style of decor? Please post pics and or good sites for cheap purchases of Asian art.

Again, thanks in advance.

I too like Asian decor but am like you in that I am unsure of where to find the stuff. I want to decorate my entire house in Asian themes, complete with the "wise man" wall scrolls you see in dojos. I'm even looking for Asian garden lanterns and yard lights. I'll check around though and see what I can find. I have an Oriental Import shop in my town called "South Sea Imports", they may be able to import Asian decor and furniture. I'll check and let you know. I live in Albany, GA.

Hey dude, found a link.. did an auto search for Asian Decor and came up with this.......Asian Decor You should check it out. This site has every bit of Oriental Art and Furniture you could want. Right down to the "Jade Dragon" sculpture for the mantle of tea table. Awesome site......bit pricy though. But hey.... it's import for pete's sake. Who's "Pete"?:D

When I ask locals for what is in GA they say *everything*. Where is the most happening places to go? I hear Atlanta is all kinds of fun.

ATL. is definitley the place to be. "Little 5 points" and "Underground Atlanta" are some of the best places on the East Coast to shop for hard to find items. Especially if you're into excentric clothing. And not to mention the fact that they have "6 Flags" there and "Stone Mountain" which are great tourist attractions. Savannah is a nice place to. On the beach, lot's of pretty college chicks and plenty of stripclubs. Not as many as Fayetteville N.C. though. The All American Highway in Fayettville has a lot of clubs. I know personally because I was in the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg and I dated a stripper from the "House of Dolls";) . Not to be confused with the "Doll House" in Ft. Lauderdale Fl. Come on down and check us out sometime. Peole are real friendly here.:D

No Pro Bro. Gotta go though. Always wanted an Asian wife. Anybody know how that "mail order bride" thing works?:D No seriously.... I really want to know. Thanks for the props on the link. It took some doing to find though. After surfing many "dead links" that lead to search engines and "ad" sites. I finally found a link that hopped me to the site. Pretty sure there may be more though. I'll keep looking. Maybe I'll ask "Gojirra". ;)

I'm looking for a red rug with black lettering to hang up on the wall in the den, which I can't afford at the moment. There's just something about those colors that appeal to me. I also plan on doing some lighted art to put up on the walls. Design, as well as funding, yet unclear.
The den will be done in asian with red, black and gold..and will display my martial arts weapon designs. The bedroom will possibly be done in medievil. Blue walls and brushed stainless trimmings are a definite. Both of which don't tie into my old design scheme which involves the outlandish and extra-creepy. I now have a bunch of hideous McFarlen toys that have nowhere to go. Guess I'll save that design scheme for another room. While I still love the creepies, my other design ideas, which I've been harboring for years, are being manifested in the two current rooms. I Just need more rooms..oh yeah, and cash.

I feel bith you guys on the collectibles issue. I have a crap load of DBZ and DBGT collectibles as well as over half of the DBZ video collection and all the GT videos up to date in America. And I'm quickly running out of room. Hope to create a library for the stuff in one of my 2 spare bedrooms. Also want to check out the McFarlans. Talking about lighted art. Check out Spencer's man. They have some sweet stuff. Including a killer Platboy bunny clock in blue neon. GOTTA HAVE THAT!:D
