RTI 6 vs. Monitor 60 as rear speakers
Currently have the Monitor 60 as my rear speakers, thinking about switching to RTI 6's for them. Is this worth the purchase? I have RTI 10's as my fronts and CSI 5 as the center.

Look into the FXi3 or FXi5 instead. My System Showcase!

I ran the 6's and they had amazing bass but fxi will be better

I think that if you're a gamer or listen to lots of multichannel music that would be a worthwhile upgrade. Timbre matched all around, and the bass should be tighter. I do not do much of either or the above, so matching surrounds have never been a big deal to me. In my space however I would never get away with towers as surrounds, so I would go with the bookies.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Personally I don't see much of a gain there. Sure they'll be timbre matched, but not "a lot" of info in those channels and they're often "softer" than what's up front. Although there is something to be said for the two sided fxis (what you really want on the sides is "dispersion" more than anything. So maybe FXis for R/L surrounds).
I'm with rooftop since I rarely game and listen to almost NO music matrixed in surround.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking.....I just wasn't sure if there was enough of a gain to justify it. The speakers are $200, and while that seems like a good price and I could probably sell my monitors for around $120 on Craigslist, I'm just not sure it's worth all the effort. I'm most definitely a gamer, so I guess that's a factor. Thank you.
