Conecting 4 (8 ohm) speakers to PSW10 Powered Subwoofer

I want to know if I can connect 4 (8 ohm) speakers to the Speaker output of a PSW10 Powered subwoofer.

I am using a 4 zone Control 4 Amplifier that can handle 60W @ 8 ohms and 120 @ 4 ohms per channel.

In the user manual is clear that its safe to connect 2 speakers (8 ohms) , but i am not sure wich is the impedance specification for the speaker output terminals of the subwoofer.

I hope someone can helpp me with this question.

    Hello,
Thanks for posting on Polk's forum. The PSW10 just passes the audio signal from your receiver on to the speakers that are connected to it. In other words, think of the sub as a conduit for the audio produced by the amplifier. As long as the amplifier is comfortable with the speaker load the sub woofer is only a connection point.
    I hope this helps.

If Ken answered your question go with that, but I think you were asking specifically if you could connect 4 speakers to your PSW10 sub. If that's what you're wondering, the answer is "No", you can only connect 2 speakers to the sub. The sub should be connected via its Speaker Level Inputs with speaker wires directly from your speaker outputs (Main or Front speakers) if you're connecting directly from your receiver. Then connect the speakers to the Speaker Level Outputs of the sub.

If you're using your receiver pre-outs or a pre-amplifier, use the pre-outs for your Main or Front pair of speakers and connect them with Y Cables to both the Line In inputs on your sub and the inputs on your power amp that's driving your Mains/Fronts.

You could, similarly, connect a second PSW10 with the second pair of speakers if you wanted to.

    Thanks for your posts

Sorry, I am still not clear if I can Connect four speakers to the speaker out terminal of the PSW10.

For what Ken says, it doesn?t matter how many speakers I conect to the speaker out terminal of the subwoofer, as long as the amplifier (not reciever) can handle the load.

Teekay 0007 says specifically that it wont work, that i can only connect two speakers.

Wich advise should i go with.

I already ran two speaker cables from the amplifier to the subwoofer (speaker in terminal) and one cable from the subwoofer (speaker otu terminals) to each of the four speakers.

I will apreciate your time and i hope you can helpp me again .

    best regards

Since your amplifier is fine with 4 ohms, it will work fine.

Why do you want to connect all four speakers through the sub?

    Hello,
I believe TK was under the impression that you were expecting the internal bass amplifier, of the sub, to be able to provide power to any speaker connected to the speaker level outputs. Since this is not your plan you are fine with the connections, the sub is just a connection point between the amplifier and the speakers. Whatever signal comes into the sub travels to the connected speakers.
    Cheers, Ken
