Have opportunity to pick up Base Stratos. Had been looking for Khartago but this is even nicer.

Anyone have experience with Klaus' amps?

Do a search you'll find all kinds of threads for Odyssey gear.

I have a Candela linestage and a Stratos Stereo Plus - very satisfied customer.

    BTW, it's spelled Odyssey

    Shacky,

I am running 5.0 system with 2 Odyssey Mono Extreme power amps to Polk SDA-SRS2s FL/FR speakers
and 1 Odyssey HT-3 power amp to Polk CSi-5 center speaker and Polk FXi-5 surrounds.
They sound great and no problems with the power amps.

I got the Stratos. What a killer amp from build quality - and sound. Much better control of the Monitor 11's than my Sui 890DB as amp with Adcom CTP 500 II.

I also bought an Acurus RL-11 from same seller. He gave me a deal I could not refuse. I'm going to have to try to warm up to the Acurus. At first listen it is thin sounding. Granted I'm a loudness or bass boost kinda guy.

The RL-11 is a very nice pre-amp for the money. Very neutral so if you are an exaggerated bass head then maybe some Cerwin Vega's and a receiver with loudness and bass controls is what you should be looking at. The Odyssey gear is more neutral and natural as is the RL-11.

The thin sound could be coming from the fact the new x-overs aren't broken in yet. Takes from 200-300 hours for them to settle in.

Yes I want to burn in those new caps to make critical comparisons. I put my Adcom CTP 500 II back in place. It has the Harvard loudness curve in Contour mode. I like it very much as it doesn't boost hi's just lows.

Polks back to soundin magical - IMHO. Don't mean to diss the Acurus. I know it is highly regarded and I can appreciate it's strengths. Guess I've just become accustomed to loudness. Likely from growing up in an apartment house where volume is limited and loudness a must.

I almost pulled the trigger on the Stratos .. after emailint, I got a phone call from klaus, and we had a wonderful conversation ... he is very particular about being sure his product will satisfy ... lots of discussion about speakers, room size, electronics etc... Congrats Shacky
