Up for sale, a McIntosh mx118 preamp with tuner. It is in amazing condition.
About a year ago I sent it to audio classics to have the glass replaced and for a tuneup. This unit also comes with the audio classics shipping box.
I am out of room! It was a hard choice to figure out what to keep between the McIntosh c-39 and the 118. I don't listen to the radio at home and since the 118 has a fantastic tuner on it, the 118 has the same tuner specs as an MR7083 and the C39 does not have a tuner, i figured I would let the 118 go to someone that could use the tuner.
Price, right now I have it up on the gone for 750 but, for polkies $700 plus shipping. Shipping will be around 50 lbs since the unit is about 30 lbs and the box is around 20 lbs. Buyer please add paypal fees.
It will also come with the audio classics papers showing the work done on the tuneup and the glass ( a bit over 300$ ) and the remote.

Sorry about the crapy cell phone pic. The flash makes it look bad but, I asure you it looks way better in person. A few polkies have seen it in person at my house and I can direct you to ask them about the looks if needed.

Is it at all possible to set access to the FS section of the forum to 25 post minimum or something? I am somwhat leary of doing business with the one-hit wonders that pop in just looking for a deal like they do...

good point, but I think it would deter some, and the rest would be exposed as a$$hats and hopefully booted before then. The FS section should be a place for those that come here for the right reasons and contribute rather than those looking to plunder polkie deals and run.The Gear... For what it's worth: I came to this board specifically to purchase an Adcom GFA-535 after searching for one for sale via Google.
While I understand the rationale, it was somewhat of a hassle to post so many times before I could buy the amp via PM.
Since that sale, I have also purchased a computer and lp's from members.
Calling potential buyers "asshats" and having onerous first-time buyer requirements MAY serve as a big deterrent to people buying anything at all.
Just another perspective.
