Interconnection cable for sda-1 speakers

I recently bought a pair of sda-1s but did not get the interconecting cable with them. I would like to find an original one or try to retro-fit one and not have the job look like some Franenstine operation. Can anyone give me some help/sugestions. Thanks.

    Welcome to CP!

There are a couple of forum members over in the Vintage Speakers forum that have scratch-built interconnect cables. What I did with two pairs of my SDA's was to replace the SDA connector with a Cardas binding post, and them use a single spade or banana cable to connect the two cabinets. The pin/blade style connectors only use the pin as an actual connection, the blade is just for stability, so a single speaker wire will work. If you have a blade/blade style, then you will need to use an XLR-type connector and use two leads (+ and -) of the speaker wire to make the connection work. I am going to do this to my SDA SRS's as they have the blade style connector. Take a look over in the Vintage Speaker forum and there is lots of info on the SDA series.

    Good luck!
SDA SRS 3.1TL, Adcom GFP710 (preamp), GFA5400 amplifier, Pro-Ject TT
    SDA SRS (circa 1988), Integra DHC 60.3 (HT preamp) Adcom GFA555 II, CS400i (center), Monitor 4.6 II (rears) Adcom GFA2535 & Oppo BDP-103, TCL 55R617 55" 4K Display, RTA 15TL (crossovers by VR3), Adcom GFP710 pre & GFA545 II amplifier, NAD C545BEE. AppleTV 4K
Other Polks not in service currently; SDA2a, SDA CRS+, SDA SRS 2.3, Monitor 4.6 II, Monitor 5jr+

We just had this discussion about building a blade-blade cable not long ago:

SDA 1's use a connector that resembles an XLR type connector. The only place you're likely to find an original is on eBay or in the Flea Market here.

Thanks to all for the help/ideas. My sda's have the pin/blade connections so I think I might try the single RCA pin aproach. I was suprised to hear that the blade was only used for support. Any more help or suggestions would be welcomed. Peace Out, G.R

Did SDA1c say so on the back label? I thought my SDA2A's were SDA2b for the longest time just because of pictures of the SDA2b studio and the oak topped model. Until I pulled the drivers and got my learn on here.

I'm thinking they just say SDA1 on the back and that is were he gets the SDA1 from.

After some looking at some pictures of various Polk's on the web I have found out that I have a pair of sda1c's. But in my own defence on the back of the speakers they are listed as only sda1. The more I look the more I find out about the Polk line. Still learing somewhere in audio land. Peace Out. G.R.
