Alright, it may not be a dedicated two channel CRS setup, but it takes a close second for me! I finally wired up sound for my deck and backyard, I can hear it all the way from my firepit clearly. Very happy. They are some Bo$e Wave 100's, I picked up off of CL for $25.00 a few years ago. They have served me well, and now are back in the mix. I'm looking forward to surfing the iPad in the afternoon, and many days of smoking/grilling with decent quality tunes. Pics!

And yes, I'm sure most of you guessed it, I'm smoking two drunk birds right now. Friends arriving shortley, to hang out and eat!

Thank god you didn't actually say it!

Enjoy man, I need to do the same thing.
Pretty crazy how a small speaker can sound really good outside.

Those speakers do sound pretty good for their size. I have a few of them.

Those speakers look like they're out in the weather and I don't think they were ment for outdoor use.BUT, Even though they should be fine if completely under the eaves and not getting cooked from heat rising from the brick fasade in the summer.

Also, I would guess the ports will look very attractive to wasps.. Most outdoor speakers have the ports behind the grills.

But still, they should work fine I guess.

I sold some Polk Atrium 55's to a close friend and then found some Bo$e 151's at a yardsale for 5.00 a pair. They were filthy but cleaned up well and I repainted them. They were my zone 2 that were never hooked up. A customer came to buy some Polk speakers and wanted my Bose 151's from outside my mancave. So I sold them. Then years later, the friend I sold the Atriums to called and asked if I heard of Bo$e 151's. Yea, I told him the story and he gave me his just purchased 151's since he had mounted the Polk 55's already and loved them. He also paid 5.00 a pair !!! :-)..These 151's were like new but like the first pair, they were black and I sanded them down and repainted these white also. BUGS AND SPIDERS HATE WHITE THINGS OUTSIDE. THEY GET EATEN SINCE THEY STAND OUT AGAINST WHITE BACKGROUNDS.

So my outdoor speakers ARE hooked up now and like yours, they're Bo$e.

Firepits, friends, and zone 2! Nice job man. I know the feeling when it finally is hooked up right and sounds great. I also have those white old bose speakers, and added a couple of b&w's. I just added recently the atrium subwoofer, but it sounded just ok until I fed a lfe line to it with it's own amp. Then, under my protected canopy I added kef c75's and it all came together. It's slightly overkill, but hanging out in the evening with the wife and/or friends grillen, swimming, and firepitting, it does let you know that life is grand.

I had an older entry level avr and I could never get the grasp on zone 2. This avr does it easy and once I got it going life has never been the same. Enjoy your zone!

    Get some shower caps.
I went to a friend of mines house once and we went out on the deck.
I noticed he had some speakers out there (never got to hear them) with shower caps on them.
Just pop them off when listening in some decent weather, put them back on when done, quick fix!

    I didn't judge, and thought it was a super cheap/decent idea.

That is actually smart. It allows it to air out and gives cheap protection, and just the right size

I agree too. Some times the answers are in the simplist form. Looks like they could be easily reached and those should keep out the bugs and wasps too.
