converting my prized vinyl collection over to lossless FLAC. I am looking to get the Pro-ject USB Phono stage, but beyond this I am completely clueless. I have tried the Google rout already but have more questions onw than answers. I want to get at least my favorites copied so that when I have my surgery, I won't have to get off my a$$ to flip an LP. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    They have a great wiki page for help. Last time I did a vinyl rip was with Duell over a year ago.

    Set the record levels so you don't go red. Set recording levels for the most dynamic track and the rest should be OK. There are settings to record in hi-res provided your playback gear can handle it. Start record, drop the needle. I record a complete album side and split up the individual tracks afterward. It's like cut, open new and paste, name it, fill out the tag, etc. If you have lots of time and don't mind hovering over the process, do each track individually.

    Mike (Keiko) invested a lot of time and effort into vinyl rips. IIRC he eventually bought some better software. Hoffman forums also has some good detailed info using Audacity.
