I live in the Southern Oregon Siskiyou mountains and every Spring the frogs start making lots of calls. Last night it was particularly loud and musical. Just for kicks, I got my little Olympus recorder and here is a short 15 sec clip of them. They congregate in this little watering hole and I counted about 6 frogs in there. I also busted out my Radio Shack SPL meter and they registered as 70 db. That's pretty loud. Anybody else enjoying them?

Ours are a lot higher pitched, almost like crickets or cicadas, and almost deafening by the stream in our pasture.

I've enjoyed frog legs in the past, depends on how they are prepared. Oh, you didn't mean that, did you?

As I said Ernie, my brother also lives in Ashland. I have heard the frogs you are talking about! They are pleasent to listen to, and I enjoy them. Haven't heard them get really loud so far though.

I have also seen the wild turkeys go up and down the street and through peoples' yards. Fun to watch!

Yep, the flocks of wild turkey are cool to see. A couple months ago my neighbor saw this coyote in the back yard and took this pic of it.
