DIY help with headphone amp

I purchased an Objective 2 amplifier off Craigslist recently. It is a kit you can purchase and build yourself. The seller apparently hadnt tested it except for ensuring it measured right with a DMM (which I didnt realize until yesterday). I have had it for a bit now and its acting up and I personally know NOTHING about how to fix it.
I am hoping there is a Polkie out there willing to look at and fix it for me for a small fee. The amp itself costs 144 totally built so I don?t want to spend a ton on troubleshooting and fixing given its low cost.
I believe its hopefully something small as there are not tons of parts on this thing. There is a ridiculous amount of documentation online about this thing, both in building and also in troubleshooting. Troubleshooting Link here.
The problems its having are that I will be listening to music and it will suddenly stop playing the music and start playing a rhythmic thumping noise. Turning it off and back on will fix the problem for about 30 seconds. The first day I got it I was able to listen to it for a good couple hours with no problems, but since then nothing.
I am willing obviously to pay shipping both ways and a bit of cash for time and cover any parts needed to fix. If your willing to take a look at it let me know.
Or if you think its just not worth fixing and buy a new one and chalk this one up as a "lesson learned" about buying off CL from someone not local let me know.
