I have a pair of Polk Audio 10A that are 20+years old. Would I be able to use them in my surround sound system?

    Yes, you can.

Do I need to say more?

Actually, you might not, if you have a "home theater in a box"...

What kind of system do you have?

    Hi rs159,

I am rebuilding my basement. The new framing will go up soon and I will prewire during this process. I do not have a system yet and the Polk Audio 10A speakers were salvaged when I gutted the basement. It is my understanding that HT in a box are not very good.

Absolutely! Do you have any ideas on the rest of your system then? I would say go with the new RTi line for your fronts.

I agree with your well informed opinion regarding HTiB but then again that also is a cost effective way of starting out. My only reccomendation would be plan your construction and layout so you can upgrade till your heart is content.

Let us know what your plans are.

Thing is - some HTiB might have undefeatable high passes at 200hz or something stupid like that, thats why I said that.

Unless you're running them off of a Fisher Price karaoke machine, it will work.
