For your consideration is a set of -

KEF Q300 bookshelf speakers in Walnut...

Hands down these are some of the best set of monitors I have heard for the dollar. To be honest I am really unsure why I am selling them! I kind of know where I want to take my home theater but I am wanting to keep my options open and at this point it looks like I might be a few months away from having mains as I track down what I am hunting!

I purchased these brand new, they have a full manufactures warranty..

I have all manuals, port plugs, everything - they look like new, smell like new, maybe have 5-7 hours of play time (mostly movies)...

Anyone can tell you when you receive these things they will be virtually new...

Would like to $475.00 with paypal and shipping - would entertain serious, reasonable offers.

Will post pics soon!

Thanks

What happened to pics? And save the don't know why your selling BS for those that are dumber in the world. It's audio man, we buy and sell things all the time.... its normal and not something to be afraid to say. You're a super respected member here Trey, be confident.

I'd at least follow up on what you said would happen....pics man, pics. You know how nerdy we all are :-) That's an awesome little bookend and a cool choice to jump into the KEF brand.

Well excellent call on the pictures - as I had not unmounted the speakers yet...

I installed a pad on the speaker that was above my TV and I guess the pad had shifted... there is a small mark on the top corner... see pics

Will lower my price to $450.00 and I am extremely pissed at myself right now as my gear NEVER has marks... EVER! @_@

It happens man, they still look fantastic. If you get a chance, how about a shot of the array? Since you have them down now....

I'd love to hear those nearfield here at the computer rig. I'm a big KEF fan, expecially vintage, that may or may not be known fact here. They have really kept the concentric design idea alive and well for the last couple decades.

I can honestly say for their price range - I know of no competitor that I have come across... and dare I say I would take them over the LSi9

I don't think it's far off the mark VR3 since they are really unique sonically, both of them have really great sound. I've heard a dozen manufacturers get Al domes wrong and they're simply painful to listen to but KEF has really tamed the typical sharpness and fatigue to a minumum....with an almost warm edge. Bad examples of Al domes would be Klipsch, some Monitor Audio, Celestion, Energy, DefTech....older PSB....even Paradigm is hit or miss but all of the aformentioned have some really positive attributes that outweigh this at times.

Another decent example of how to make it right would be NHT. YMMV...just an observation.

Ah yeah, they nailed the tweeter - it worked fantastic as a center channel, quite a bit cleaner than my old modified SM450 from Definitive at that...

Any since Mark keeps editing his posts... lol

I find Def Tech tweeters sound much better when you throw away those crappy electrolytic caps they use... their tweeters sound like smeared mud until you throw a film cap in there... true story!

Yeah, you'll be very happy, great buy. Make sure he doesn't include pictures of himself in some homemade Spiderman outfit like he did when I bought speakers from him. It was unsettling to say the least.

Did you ever get around to modding these ones? Do you think they'd benefit from it?

Better believe it was - and Mark was sporting a crotchless Superman outfit... (Talk about awkward.... >_>)

I did not get a chance to mod the Q300 - I bet there is only like one or two parts...

For 10 bucks a speaker + parts I will mod them for you :)

Honestly, I'd suggest leaving these alone until you get to hear them. Mods don't always make speakers better and you should enjoy them for what they are before you start second guessing what real engineers spent years designing and putting thru R&D.

I heard hundreds and hundreds of speakers before I modded a single one and not every venture was worth the time or expense.

    I figured I would offer :)

Heck, they are not even broken in yet... these speakers MIGHT* have 20-25 hours, MAYBE - probably closer to sub 10... I have been using my M Audio system for music/movies for the past few months...

Yea, I'm sure they'll stay stock for a very long time. I'm really excited about hearing them. I've heard great things from numerous people.
