After hearing that alot of you guys shopped around at Goodwill and other thrift stores I gave it a whirl. It did pay off w/ my Sony caasel 5 disc player w. remote for $15 even and bargin cds.Today I went again after months and it seems that the Old Bridge store does not carry electronics any more and the East Brunswick store has the same schlock of vhs, cable boxes and just garbage. There was one other source that I know near me that sells used gear. It's called the Trading Post on RT1 NEAR RT.18.It's like a pawn shop for electonics were people bring thier stuff get a price then the guy resells it fine. Now I'm at this store and looking for something specific and it's there. The Adcom GFS-6 speaker selecter and the guy would not let it go. He's a real pain in the butt and I've dealt w/ him before and he always has some excuse that he's going to use it for a set up in the store or some nonsense like that.I told him that a high bin e-bay price was $55 and I was going to deal ,he wanted no part of it .He's one stubborn guy.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO GO,i KNOW OF ONE OTHER GOODWILL ON RT.22 IN UNION

^Same here. Last several times for me, nothing. My last score was a pair of Celestion DL4 bookies for $4.00. Ken lives closer to the GW's here. He beats me there everytime.

Lefty, where are you located? I've visited that goodwill store many times, picked up some monitor 10s there.

people are no longer donating used electronics that I would be interested in it seems.. plus in the last few years.. other people wised up and started going after the vintage electronics as well.. so the competition is fierce now. i just don't have time to waste and peruse the GW's anymore. sad, because I sure enjoyed it a few years ago.. flipped a lot of gear.. but those days are gone.

even on Craigslist the deals aren't as good anymore.. people often want a shiny new dime for their used gear.. oh well.
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Dover has many thrift shops in downtown and it's pretty good too...

There is a guy locally that has a nice pair (not mint) of 3.1 TL's for $700. he wont budge on that price and claims they were $3000+ back 20+ years ago and they are worth more than his asking price... certainly not what I would pay.
