I am looking for a subwoofer plate amplifier for a DIY project. I would prefer a OAudio, Apex Sr or non servo Rythmik amp.

Please let me know what you have. Thanks

Build it better! just start from scratch...get a nice power supply and get an NXV200 from Aussie amplifiers. it will kill most of those commercial ones for sure! if you are good soldering and fallowing instructions...it will be done in no time!

Why not use a pro amp? More power and cheaper cost. Which sub are you using?

I have a pair of GR Research SW12 subs. I was looking for amps that Danny recommend to use with them.
The final load is 4 ohms and power handling is around 400 to 500 watts total.

I will take a look at the DIY amp that was recommended

I have an older Apex Jr you can have for $35 shipped.
It works great. Will post pictures if interested.

The Apex Jr is a little less wattage than I was looking for but the price is really cheap. Which version is it the C-6 or the discontinued one?

The discontinued one. I can't really find much info on the web. Maybe 100 watts into 8 ohms I think. Of couse 4 ohm stable. Originally had a remote control but the previous owner lost it. It is a bit scratched up but works great and is dead quiet.

I gotta a great deal on a Dayton sa240 at parts express $108 new 240 watts@4 ohms it has variable crossover points and volume levels , it easily drives my 15" quatro , its a A/B class amp has the big heat sincs , I wanted a Dclass but the salesman said I would be happier with the sa240 they last longer and repairs are easy whereas a dead Dclass is usually garbage .
Parts express sells "scratch and dent" stuff on ebay for about 25% less than list .
